Supercritical CO2 extraction experiment of turmeric essential oil

In June 2019, the BIT laboratory was commissioned by an institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to successfully complete the research and development project for the deep processing and comprehensive utilization of the effective ingredients in turmeric.

Turmeric is a perennial herb of the ginger family Curcuma genus. It contains a variety of chemical components and can be used for medicinal purposes and as a food seasoning.

Turmeric is spicy and light, with a slight mix of pepper, musk, sweet orange and ginger. It is an important component of curry powder. In terms of medicinal use, turmeric has been widely circulated in Japan for its anti-alcohol and anti-hangover effects, and the effect is remarkable.

In the Edo period, turmeric was already popular as a Chinese herbal medicine. Ancient Asians regarded it as a panacea, like a treasure.

Medical research of turmeric

Modern medical research shows that in addition to understanding alcohol and preventing hangovers, turmeric has a wide range of pharmacological effects. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-pathogenic microorganisms, anti-oxidation, lipid-lowering, hepatoprotective, choleretic, and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular effects.

Among them, the effects of protecting the liver and protecting the liver have been widely used, and the clinical effect is remarkable. Turmeric is a veritable medicinal and food ingredient. Moreover, the pharmacological effects have been confirmed by experiments that there are no side effects at all.

Medicinal effects of turmeric

The medicinal effects of turmeric come from its powerful curcumin and natural essential oils.

The research on supercritical CO2 extraction of turmeric is to use supercritical fluid technology to extract, separate, and comprehensively utilize various effective components such as natural essential oil and curcumin in turmeric. A complete set of process routes, operating parameters and subsequent product planning and application research Finally, four different products are derived from one turmeric raw material. After obtaining detailed plan routes, experimental data, analysis and testing results, a complete project summary report is compiled and delivered to the user together with the samples.
